It's time for another giveaway (or two or three or thirty), as Sew, Mama, Sew! is hosting another of their great Giveaway Days. I went crazy last time they hosted one, looking at countless blogs to decide whose giveaways to pursue and whose blogs I'd like to follow. I still follow a few blogs from that experience, though it was such a blur I can't say I remember more than a couple follows' origins.
This time, I am fortunate enough to have things to giveaway and to participate on the other side of the coin on this event. (I'll still enter other giveaways, mind you.)
There are a few things I'd like to offer as giveaways, which means we'll have a few winners instead of one over here. Because there are so many clumped into this one post, I apologize ahead of time for the length of it. Bear with me, please, as I think the items up for giveaway are worth the look.
I received these patterns in a clothing/craft swap from my cousin, but I do not often make things for children, and thought I'd share the bounty. I have NOT gone through each of the patterns to determine their contents. Each set of patterns is sorted by age/size and come with some fabric that may be appropriate to use for the pattern. I apologize for not having more gender neutral fabrics, but I seem to have a limited supply of them.
This first set of patterns are for size 1/2 and 1 and are accompanied by about a yard of pink corduroy. I could totally see a little girl running around in a pink corduroy robe on Christmas morning!
The second set of patterns is for size 2 and will come with about two yards of flowery cotton. The cotton should be just enough to make a pajama set or a dress, but you may need to supplement with some contrasting fabric.
The third set of patterns is for size 6. Since these patterns are for bigger kids, I sadly do not have any fabric that would be an appropriate match in terms of type or amount. I do have some fancy white brocade-like fabric (synthetic, I think) in two 1-yard cuts and a little under a yard's worth of gold/green tie dye cotton that I'm adding into the mix. They won't do for these patterns, but may be fun for making doll clothes or on other smaller projects.
All you have to do to enter is leave a comment on which of the three sets you would like to win and your favorite childhood outfit. It will help to leave your e-mail, which you can leave in the name (at) mail (dot) com format to decrease risk for spammers. Or any other strange code that you'd like really as long as I will know how to reach you should you win.
You are welcome to follow me for additional entries and let me know in the comments. It can be this blog, my tumblr account, or my twitter account if those are of interest to you. I don't rightly care, as long as it's something that you find to be worth your time.
I'll do a random draw for each pattern set once the giveaway closes on December 16 at 5 p.m. PST, and will then post the winners soon thereafter, no later than Sunday, December 18.
In the meantime, feel free to browse the rest of my site. There's a wide range of subjects I touch on, so I hope you find something of interest. And, check out my novice sewer resource page, if you're just starting. Let me know if it's missing any resources you'd like to see on there. You can reach me at sneakfuzz (at) hotmail (dot) com.
Happy Sewing!
Fun! I'd like the second set for size 2.

ReplyDeleteI would love the first set. My favorite childhood outfit? The childhood clothes I remember most would be my halloween costumes which my mom would make by hand because she never learned to use a sewing machine!

ReplyDeleteOne of my favorite childhood outfits was a blue striped seersucker dress, I still have it! I wore it every single time it was clean! I was worried my mom would eventually hide it from me, but luckily she didn't!

ReplyDeleteI would be so excited to win the third set. I have boys and it's so hard to find cute patterns for them.
ReplyDeleteI would love the size 2 set. My child is a little giant and fits pattern sz 2 at 17'months because of the height!!
ReplyDeleteMy favorite childhood outfit would have to be a little blue linen dress with a lace collar. My grandmother bought it for me when I was four and I would only wear it with my Punky Brewster shoes hhahha not that it matched;)
I really loved a sweatshirt I got at a ski race I went in - it's from 1994 and I still have it! I'd love the littlest patterns - very cute!

I loves the second set. Thx for the chance to win ^^v
ReplyDeleteMy fav dress during childhood is the knitted dress by my mum.

ReplyDeleteId like #1 or 2, in that order. My favorite childhood outfit was a blue swing coat with a fake fur lined hand warmer/muffler that hung around my neck.
ReplyDeleteI'm a new follower
ReplyDeleteI'd love to win set 1 or 2, in that order! My favourite childhood outfit was a flowery pink dress that I wore to pieces :)
ReplyDeletePlease send a note to jp@mailinator.com if I win! I'd prefer not to put my real email out in public in case spambots are harvesting the addresses :$
I would love to win the second set. My favorite childhood outfit was an a-line dress that my mam made me. It was brown with houses all over it.
ReplyDeleteI like either of the first 2 sets. My favorite childhood clothes are comfy, cute ones.
ReplyDeletefirst set of patterns are for size 1/2 and 1
ReplyDeletei'd love to win the first set. The little girls dress is cute, and some pink cord would be fab!
ReplyDeleteI would love the third set, for the boys pajamas and the dress. My favorite childhood outfit was a white eyelet dress my mom made for my first communion. I remember at the time being frustrated it wasn't as fluffy as the other girls, but looking back, I realize how much love my mom put into sewing my clothes when there wasn't money to spend on new things.

Sweet. Set 2. I had a dress in 4th grade my mom got at a thrift store. I wore it on Easter Sunday that year and felt so special.
ReplyDeleteskowens (at) sbcglobal (dot) net
I'd take the size 6 group. My favorite clothing was the wardrobe my mother made which matched the doll clothes she also made me for Christmas one year.
ReplyDeletethecurryseven at sbcglobal dot net
All are great. I would love to have set 2. Thanks for the chance to win.
ReplyDeleteI love vintage patterns--and would love any of the sets, but especially the first. Thanks.
ReplyDeletewhitedragonstudios at hotmail dot com
The first set. I have a son and there are some awesome boy patterns over there.
ReplyDeleteDo I really I have to choose a favorite?! They are all darling.. Maybe then 1 then 2 then 3... Lovely :) My favorite clothes as a kid? I had a pair of floral print, elasticated denim shorts.. I would wear them every day that they were "clean"...
ReplyDeleteI would love the first set. My favourite dress as a child was made by my mum and had a rainbow of ricrac around the bottom of the dress and a witch on a broom on the top half. It was green and really comfortable. And my mum kept it for me so my little girl can wear it when she is big enough.
ReplyDeleteI would love the second set BUT my daughter is now too big, so please put me down for the third set. I was a tomboy but used to get my mum to make me a special birthday dress each year that I would wear once for my birthday and after that just admire. My favourite of these was from when I was around 6 or 7: it was quite fitted with short sleeves and a mandarin collar and a couple of lovely buttons on the front, and it was made from the most gorgeous cream red and blue ribbon fabric. I still have it and still admire it every now and then!
ReplyDeletePS I am following you now too...
The 2nd set is my favorite! My daughter is a size 2 right now so it's perfect! My favorite childhood outfit was a pair of knickers and a striped shirt my grandma made me.
ReplyDeleteI would love the second set. It would be perfect for my daughter, but I love the first set too!
ReplyDeletenikkipeachy AT yahoo DOT com
I would love any of them!
ReplyDeletemindfulhome at gmail dot com
I like number 3 because my little guy is just growing into that size now. My favourite childhood outfit was a pink poncho that I wore until it was sort of grey looking and shabby. I would still be wearing it now if it would fit ;)
ReplyDeleteGreat giveaway! I would choose set 2 as most of my friends' children are entering that age!!!
ReplyDeleteI'd love 1 or 2 - Thanks for the chance to win! ryansarahn(at)gmail.com
ReplyDeleteI really love that pink corduroy, and LOVE the idea of making it into a robe. My daughter is bigger than size 1, but I feel like I could make it work. I had a Christmas dress that my mom made for me when I was little, and my little girl actually got to wear it this year! It was really cool to see that.
ReplyDeleteI'd pick the smallest size. I can remember a green/red plaid dress from when I was about 6 and I had a belt for it! it was a slim leather belt and the buckle was a little Scottish terrier!
ReplyDeletei gots ALL BOYS so the third set sound wonderful. i used to have this little dress that my momma put a patch on that said rock and roll. very cute. i love it still

ReplyDeleteThe thing I remember most from when I was little was the Party Collar. It was a white lace collar that was put on over the top of dresses to turn any dress into a party dress!
I would love set 2, I have a little 2 year old girl! My favourite childhood outfit were dresses with puff sleeves!
