Wowzers!

okay. so this is my first post on my oh-so-beautiful present from the niff. i cannot say that i have much to put up for today, since i was somewhat unprepared, but i want to start this blog off right.

i guess my first post should include a little bit about myself-i am a 27-year-old woman who grew up in a small town in Carroll County, MD. i went to University of Chicago for Anthropology and got a master's in counseling from George Washington University. i currently work a ton of hours for a youth advocacy and mentoring program in Baltimore City, and I live with my husband Ian. life is generally good, but my three best friends, the niff, rachel, and libby live too far away and i never manage to see all the people i love often enough.

i won't write anything else for tonight. the idea of having a blog is a little overwhelming; the pressure to say things that are useful or meaningful is still fresh in my mind.

let me just finish by saying how much i love niff. she is such a good friend, and i hope that she finds this blog to be all she hoped it would be for me. though i may refrain from posting anything for blind contour friday until i get more practice in. i think that it's literally been over a year since i've drawn seriously.

  1. yay!
I am so happy you like it!
Don't worry, the poin of a blog isn't to impress others, it's to express yourself.

And the point of blind countours is to have fun and loosen up...so you better post! =/

and sorry, i had accidentally posted as you, so i deleted it...i'm a dork.

  3. You shouldn't worry about your length of non-drawing time. I DO draw a bunch and mine still look pretty shakey so you should draw and draw some more!

  4. you're right sutter, i really should draw more and more! i have to find the time to do it, but i know that it's important for me to start. that's why i'm excited about blind contour fridays; but i've never been good at blind contours, so i'm extra self-conscious about them. we'll see how it goes this time around; i gotta find my "huevos"as an artist first.
