Everyday Matters Challenge #29: Something Architectural

school!
robert poole middle
This week, school started. I live across the street from the Robert Poole Middle School, so I thought that it'd be an appropriate tribute to the new school year and good fodder for my sketching practice.

sorry the line quality is so hard to see. i always forget how poorly these things can scan.

  1. Glad to see you joining in, Seeks! Great drawing! I like the blue door accent. Don't worry about keeping up. I'm the one who posts the challenges and there are probably 10 or more I haven't done yet. Just pick and choose what you feel like. No pressure.

  7. Yay! so nice to see you drawing. I am glad EDM folks let you in. I like your attention to detail. Isn't the real color of that door a much more sickley blue? It looks too nice in your drawing. =)

  8. yeah... i guess you could say that the door was a more sickly blue in real life. but i don't really have that color, and i'm still playin' around with my caran d'ache crayons/watercolors to get mixing decent. i tried to use them for another piece and i realized how inept i am with them. so this blue will have to do.

  9. This is really nice -- lots of great details! And getting to change the color of the door to one you like is the GREATEST advantage of being the artist -- therefore, you have permission in the future to paint doors purple, even if they're actually muddy brown. ;-D
