I know this because I follow these women's sites and will be participating in their Summer Essentials Sew-Along. Because I need shorts. No really, I will make them.
And I just found an Etsy seller who is selling packs of 4 vintage patterns for about $4 (in part because she hasn't checked for completeness in the patterns, but c'mon. It's a crap shoot.) The patterns look fun though, and span a wide range of styles.
Which I guess brings me to a more important question for my fellow sewers out there: What do you consider a reasonable price for vintage patterns? I find such a range out there of prices, and I know I can be quite the spendthrift. I would like to develop a more discerning eye. Any advice?
I also notice that many of you are very good at keeping the cost of fabrics and notions down, what are some principles that you implement to help keep your shopping reasonable?
Well, I just brought a blouse pattern for 18.00 dollars! That's a lot for me. I do try to find ones under the 10.00 dollars for dresses from the 40's or 50's. I think my max would be 20.00 dollars for a good dress pattern. I have bought most of my patterns for 1-5 dollars a piece. Now fabric, I buy cheap to make muslins and nicer fabrics for the real deal. There is a balance for sure in sewing. I love the patterns you have here. Very pretty
