Another review of recent discoveries I've made, mainly through
Colossal, of people who sew as art.
I love this stuff.
First up, Lithuanian artist Severija Incirauskaite who does cross-stitch works on metal objects. Not only is the scale at which she does these works impressive, but my mind aches at the idea of drilling all of those holes in such exactitude.
Don't Panic interviewed her
here.
The second artist is
Rebecca Chew, who did her art for Esquire (Malaysia). The addition of color and the more basic shapes of the embroidery are really quite fun. I find the pictures far more interesting now.
